Community Involvement

Learning through Service and Teamwork

From activities like recycling to library volunteering and delivering meals to senior citizens, consumers at the UCP adult program are actively engaged in the community. The staff at UCP views community involvement as a tool for learning valuable life skills, job skills and confidence — as well as building a spirit of teamwork and comradery.

Examples of Community Inolvement activities at the UCP Adult Program: 

  • Meals on Wheels delivery (serving 9 routes per week!)
  • Recycling pick-up
  • Helping at the Open Door Food Kitchen
  • Hanging up items at local clothing closets
  • Assisting with book maintenance at Rolling Hills Library
  • Filling give-away bags for Youth Alliance and non-profit organizations
  • Assisting with projects for the United Way
